Colonel Tapio Halkola

Colonel Halkola is currently working as the Chief Military Engineer in Defence Command Finland, C4 Division (J6). He is coordinating C4 domain technology and research programs and C4 capability planning.

He is involved in the SDR activities in the Finnish Defence Forces and he is also the Finnish rep in ESSOR Program Committee and COALWNW Steering Committee. Col Halkola is the member of Advisory Board of National TEKES-program of Cognitive Radio Research (TRIAL-program) and the member of the Advisory Board of the Center of Wireless Communications in Oulu University.

During his career he has been on several engineering and management positions in Finnish Defence Forces, both in research and armaments domains. He has also worked several years in telecommunications industry.

Colonel Halkola has the MSc in Electrical Engineering (Finland) and the MSc in the Military Electronics System Engineering (UK).
