Col. Pompeo Piedimonte
Col. Piedimonte attended the Italian Air Force Academy where he graduated in 1989. He holds a Degree in Electronic Engineering with first-class honors from University of Naples, and a master's degree in System Engineering from the Italian Defense Staff School of Rome.
Since 2003, Col. Piedimonte has been working in the procurement part of Italian MoD. In the last years he worked in the following areas:
- Tactical Data Link and in particular for Link-16 acquisition programs like Multifunction Information Distribution System, Distributed Simulation Network, Network Management Station)
- SDR program within the Italian participation to MIDS JTRS program, the negotiation phase of ESSOR program and the national contracts negotiation
Col. Pompeo Piedimonte is presently the Director of the Command & Control Division of the “General Secretariat of Defense and National Armaments Directorate” - VI Department (former TELEDIFE). The Department is responsible for the joint procurement (all the Italian Armed Forces) in the C4ISTAR area.
